one of the most intriguing teams in the NFL after six weeks. They are
average, but after their stunning and compelling 35-24 comeback win at
San Diego on Monday -- the Chargers led 24-0 at halftime --
Denver Broncos
have to feel great about themselves, especially after having a difficult
schedule in the first six games of the season. The team is growing,
quarterback Peyton Manning is playing brilliantly and
Denver Broncos know they can now finish games. This could be a dangerous team moving forward.
Best player so far: Manning, without a doubt. He has to
be considered a serious NFL MVP candidate. Manning has had one bad
quarter, in Week 2 at Atlanta. Manning has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards
and he has tossed nine touchdown passes in the past three games. There
is little doubt, Manning, 36, is at the top of his game.
What needs to be done: Consistency on both sides of
the ball. This is not a great team and it may not become a great team
in 2012. But it can be very good. But this young roster most continue to
mature on both sides of the ball and give Manning a chance as the team
did at San Diego.
Fearless forecast: I think the
Denver Broncos will become a consistent winner and a tough AFC team down the stretch. The schedule
lightens as Denver grows confidence. I see an upward trend developing.
